Over the past decade, an increasing number of Indian enterprises have undergone a digital transformation. The cloud has moved from being a relatively backend technology (mainly for storage purposes) to one that is increasingly defining the competitiveness of businesses and the sustainability of their strategies. Covid has accelerated this shift to the cloud, with even traditional industries like education and healthcare fast-tracking its adoption. When the situation demands, Indians can be highly techno-savvy, as was recently demonstrated by a schoolteacher from Solapur who won a coveted Global Teacher Prize for his extensive work in the noble field of girl child education, and revolutionizing textbooks in India. India has the potential to become a technology hub for the world, and in the post-Covid scenario, it matters even more. There is no dearth of workable ideas … but implementing them is the key. Covid has provided us a unique opportunity for restructuring our system, which we must maximize.
