Today’s complex geopolitics– complicated further by Covid – offers India a unique opportunity. We need to recognize the new world order and begin to proactively navigate it, especially using our soft power and technology. We may need to shed some of our traditional inhibitions and align ourselves pragmatically with like-minded nations. Our vaccine diplomacy has already reaped rich dividends, and we should identify more such socioeconomic niches which could further improve our global standing. Both America and India are concerned with many socially relevant aspects of Big Data, and creating joint standards for the free world (especially in healthcare) could be an important step ahead for us. The pandemic has given us a chance to innovatively restructure our system, and we should ensure that we rebuild it in a manner that will enhance our image in the emerging world order.
