Reducing infra project time

27 JUN,2022 | MEDC

Various government departments are now using the Gati Shakti-led digital technology initiative to cut the execution time for infrastructure projects by around 100 days. Officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) are attending geo-informatics workshops to draft the alignment of five expressways digitally. This is a key step ahead for national infrastructure development, helping to save huge survey costs throughout India. Announced last October, the Gati Shakti national masterplan is an integrated policy strategy depicting economic zones and multimodal connectivity infrastructure. Its technocratic design aims to integrate the actions of various ministries, and use that information to appropriately fill in the missing infrastructure connectivity gaps in such zones. India needs many more such innovative initiatives where in the synchronized power of technology and the administration can help accelerate infrastructure development in the public interest.
