Clean energy transition

04 JUL,2022 | MEDC

A huge market for clean energies is emerging in India. In the recent G7 Summit, the Prime Minister highlighted India's track-record in this area, and said that India has achieved the target of 40% of its energy capacity from non-fossil sources nine years before the official deadline. India's huge railway system is also predicted to become net-zero this decade. Given India's stage of socioeconomic development, its commitment to achieving climate goals is remarkable. When a large country like ours displays such attitudes, it serves as a role model to other developing economies. A clean energy transition is now imperative. The road ahead is rocky, but tradition is on India’s side … the core principles of the circular economy have been an integral part of our culture and lifestyle for centuries.
