Developing multimodal connectivity

18 OCT,2021 | MEDC

The launch of the Rs. 100 trillion Gati Shakti or the national master plan for multimodal connectivity to expedite infrastructure project implementation is welcome. It is a digital platform bringing together 16 ministries for the coordinated implementation of infrastructure projects. It will enable the movement of goods and people throughout India to become seamless, and will facilitate the ease of doing business. With India looking at near double digit growth this year, such facilities are necessary. An inevitable reset is awaiting the global economy in the post-Covid period, with the ensuing national growth narrative depending largely on the quality of domestic infrastructure development. To this end, developing reliable multimodal connectivity is the first logical step.
