Moving towards hybridization

11 JUL,2022 | MEDC

India's renowned car producer, Maruti Suzuki, is betting big on hybrid technologies. In the coming years, the company plans to prioritize battery electric vehicles and CNG cars, and also put greater focus on the development of ethanol and bio-CNG compliant engines. This is part of a larger policy trend. With the aim of reducing pollution and introducing more fuel-efficient vehicles, the government has proposed to make it mandatory for light, medium and heavy duty motor vehicles to comply with fuel consumption standards from April 2023. With rising LPG prices, the general public also needs to be offered alternatefuelsources to meet their daily requirements. Many Indian companies are now investing strategically and heavily in green hydrogen, which is probably the fuel of tomorrow. A strategic shift to alternative energies is inevitable. Adopting hybrid and green technologies is the way to go for India.
