Risk Management in India

06 APR,2020 | MEDC

Business process continuity worldwide in the face of Covid-19 has been disrupted by the breakdown in global supply chains. The world has faced one pandemic after another. However, we still haven’t prepared ourselves adequately for such eventualities. With overcrowding and unplanned growth threatening the planet’s survival, the immediate scientific development of risk and disaster management strategies at both the national and international levels needs to be taken seriously. The large infectious diseases burden in India presents us an important research resource. We need to combine our world class IT prowess in mining epidemiological data to cracking the genetic code of pandemic causing infections. The world has got a wake-up call from a microscopic virus, and if we fail to learn something important from this once-in-a-lifetime episode, we only have ourselves to blame.
