Skilling and learning is a life-long process that, at each stage, accelerates and gives more impetus to career/job goals of the nation's youth. It is a prerequisite to sustained national economic growth. The ladder of skilling, upskilling and reskilling should provide a roadmap, not just for employment, but also for growth and entrepreneurial activities. Failing to do so may end up wasting India's potentially rich demographic dividend. Our youth need to acquire the necessary know-how for building and launching large techno-commercial enterprises. In today's age of outsourcing, digitalization will play a major role in connecting locally available talent to global employment/entrepreneurship opportunities, particularly in technology. The mission and focus of the training process should remain on constant improvement in the lives and careers of the employment-seekers, rather than just creating skilled human capital for industry. This is worth remembering.
