The CM dashboard

03 OCT,2022 | MEDC

The CM dashboard is a novel idea proposed by the Prime Minister for tracking activities of state government departments at the click of a button. For example, in Gujarat, the state government has prepared a dashboard monitoring all schemes over Rs. 5 crore from across all departments. This dashboard monitors projects worth Rs. 2.6 lakh crore, and also the performance of all collectors and MPs in districts across Gujarat. The portal tracks 3000 performance metrics from e-governance applications used daily in over 20 different government sectors and gives the CMO a window into the functioning of the administrative machinery from the highest to the lowest level in the state. Progressive states like Maharashtra should adopt such innovative ideas to improve their governance. The delivery of citizen-centric services through technology needs to mature to a level wherein it becomes an integral part of daily life.
