Blueprint ready for Electric Mobility Jobs

20 MAY,2019 | MEDC

India has drawn up a blueprint to create a specialised workforce to support its Electric Mobility Mission Plan. It is expected to generate 10 million jobs. The strategy involves creating a skilled workforce with electric vehicle expertise in key areas like design, testing, battery manufacturing, and management. This is a positive step. Not only is employment generation the need of the hour, but shifting to an electric mode will immensely benefit the environment, which has recently come under a lot of strain in India. The government is committed to achieve 30% e-mobility by 2030, and it aims to put six to seven million e-vehicles on the road by that year. With suitable preparation and implementation, that ambitious target is certainly achievable.
