Can India gain from the ongoing trade war?

Both the public and private sectors need to prepare themselves for a lingering trade war between the world’s two largest economies. The way the situation is unfolding, American and Chinese negotiators are not likely to arrive at an agreement anytime soon. What matters in this disruptive scenario is the unique opportunity it offers India. The US tariff list for Chinese exports affected by the latest developments is worth studying and analysing in detail by Indian companies dealing in industrial goods and components. This is also the time for policymakers to deliberate on how we could strengthen our long-term commercial relationships with America. With some out-of-the-box thinking and strategizing, China’s loss can be converted into India’s gain.
